Is it possible to pull a stomach muscle by coughing?
I have had this dreadful cough for the last 10 days. It’s one of those coughs that once you start coughing you can’t stop and I often end up wretching. Only when I was out shopping today I developed quite a severe pain in the lower right abdomen while coughing (although not severely coughing at the time), which is only there when I cough and the only way I can cough is if I bend myself over double, what a sight! Any way I feel well in myself and I was wondering if this is a pulled muscle. I have tried ibuprofen but it hasn’t helped much or does anyone recommend any cough medicine as I have tried various sorts without much success.

if you’ve had a really bad cough try going to the doctor.I don’t mean to be cheeky but that is a really good option.
I is very possible to pull a muscle, next time you have a coughing attack place your hand where you get the pain and feel in you abdomen as well you can feel your muscles working as you cough, I get the same when I am sick but in my abs right above my belly button, if you know for sure that it is just a viral thing I like what is called Cold MD and there is one called Cold FX I like the MD better but it isnt to relieve symptoms it is to boost your immune system, it is sold in you local drug store just on the shelf, but if you are on any meds please talk with the phamacist they should be able to tell you if it will clash with the meds you are taking if you are taking any, Colds are pretty nasty this time of year I was sick all of October and so was my son it took a month to feel better, so if you know it is viral and nothing is needed, try taking something to give your immune system a boost there are many things out there and your local phamacist should be able to help you find something suitable, but if you havent gone to a doctor yet I would get in just to be sure it isnt Strep throat, bronchitis or something that does need an anibiotic to get rid of, and if you are on meds it would be the perfect chance to ask what you could take to give your immune system a boost.
